Discussion –

The majority of the work the U.S. Department of Labor does seems to be related to Unemployment Benefits. This is a perfect example of the Federal Government acting as an unnecessary middleman to collect taxes from citizens and then turn around and distribute the money to the States. If a State wants to provide Unemployment Benefits it is perfectly capable of doing so in a manner that reflects the needs and interests of that State.

Various programs related to workers’ compensation could be distributed to the States as needed.
